3-D printing of children's tiny hearts from MRI images is a world-leading SickKids initiative.  It means that surgeons can see, and operate on, the most complex heart defects on a 3-D Printed Heart Model - before they open a child's chest. 

These hearts allow surgeons to comprehend the structure clearly and easily, and allow them to "rehearse" their technique, and avoid potential mistakes - improving outcomes for tiny patients.
